A prospectively maintained institutional database of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation Quality Improvement Program data served to pinpoint patients who had undergone sleeve gastrectomy (SG) at our institution from January 2018 to December 2021. The training level of the assistant was determined by reviewing the operative notes. Following the classification process, seven groups were established: postgraduate residents (years 1-5), bariatric fellows (year 6), and attending surgeons (year 7).
